Yes, we have new packaging on some bags. We are in the process of updating our easy-to-read labelling and we’re giving the bags a smart new rebrand, made from 100% recycled and sustainable materials. We will still clearly detail all of our ingredients.

Our dog food recipes contain sunflower oil. Sunflower oil is a great source of vitamin E and is very high in linoleic acid, making it an excellent source of the Omega 6 polyunsaturated fatty acid. These are essential for a good quality luxurious coat and to maintain healthy skin – healthy coat and skin mean less hair loss.

Does Nature’s Way contain glucosamine or chondroitin?

Yes. Glucosamine hydrochloride is a naturally occurring compound, found in cartilage cushioning joints. Chondroitin sulphate is a long chain carbohydrate found in connective tissue. Given as additives, chondroitin combined with glucosamine, it is believed to help maintain cartilage and offset dog osteoarthritis.

 

Does Nature’s Way contain MSM?

Yes. Methyl-sulphonyl-methane is naturally derived from pine bark. It is used in the treatment of joint issues in canines, due to its anti-inflammatory properties. We include this natural ingredient to help with mobility.

We add the natural ingredient methyl-sulphonyl-methane (MSM). It is often used in the prevention and treatment of joint issues in dogs, especially due to its anti-inflammatory properties. We also use chondroitin and glucosamine, natural mobility additives.

Our dog food recipes contain prebiotics. These natural prebiotics help maintain a healthy digestive tract, help improve canine digestion by supporting & feeding the good bacteria already in the gut, and also aid the absorption of nutrients such as essential minerals.

Some of our recipes contain sweet potato. These are a gluten-free source of complex carbohydrates and naturally rich in dietary fibre. This improves colon health, aids in weight management and can even help control both diarrhoea and constipation.

Is Nature’s Way dog food hypoallergenic?

Nature’s Way natural dog food recipes are all hypoallergenic.

Hypoallergenic dog foods are created by using proteins not recognised by dogs’ antibodies as being antigens, this can be done by many processes but essentially hypoallergenic dog foods minimise allergic reactions.

 

Can Nature’s Way dog food help with canine heart disease?

Free radicals can damage cells and may play a role in heart disease, these are molecules produced when the body breaks down consumed food. Many of our natural dog food recipes contain linseed oil, which contains high levels of antioxidants – these in turn may protect the body against the effects of free radicals. Please talk to your vet for further information.

As we state across the website, without good food, there can be no good health, so when choosing a food for your pet it is essential to know exactly what it is made from.

The best way to determine the quality of your dog food is to carefully read and understand the labelling. Ask questions: Is it from high quality ingredients? Is there a quality meat source? Are the ingredients human-grade?

All our natural dog food recipes have meat as the number one main ingredient; high meat protein content and no derivatives (this is only human-grade high quality chicken and lamb). Single source protein from quality meat ingredient reduces the risk of food allergies or intolerance.

All of our natural dog food recipes are high in meat that dogs instinctively prefer. It promotes easy and efficient absorption of nutrients, and maintains lean muscle and strong bones.

Some early signs of diet problems would be signs to change food too, these could include digestive upset, very loose stools, vomiting (especially after eating), wind (excessive and smelly).

Other signs include anal gland problems, bad breath, runny eyes, lethargy and hyper-activity; please talk to your vet as well as changing food.

Your dog’s coat will show issues too; scratching, balding, moulting, odours and dandruff.
